DAMAGED & BROKEN PRODUCT
Direct Tap ensures your product is handled with great care and respect, however, breakage is an unfortunate occurrence in this industry and is a cost of doing business.
Direct Tap will work with it’s partners to agree upon a percentage of volume that falls within an acceptable range of breakage. Depending on each partner’s volume, an acceptable range will likely fall between 1-5% of your monthly volume distributed by Direct Tap.
Direct Tap does not pay retail or wholesale costs for damaged product. Direct Tap will reimburse up to $50 or the prime cost per case or keg, whichever is determined to be the lesser amount. For items valued above $50, Direct Tap recommends third party insurance to be purchased and held by the product owner.
Direct will notify you of damaged product that happens internally monthly direct to partners. Upon notification of damaged product, a claim process will be started. All claims must be submitted in writing to [email protected] within 30 days of the product owner learning of the damage.
Once you have submitted a claim in writing to the claims department the claim process will begin. You will then receive confirmation of the claim from our claims department and we can start on the approval process. Once your claim has been approved you will receive confirmation and a credit memo will be sent to you from our accounting department which will be applied to your next invoice.
“Breakage” shall not include any stained or torn labels, damaged foil or packaging that can be replaced. Direct Tap shall have no liability whatsoever for breakage caused by common carriers, Partner’s employees, or earthquakes.
Once product has been delivered to and accepted by a licensee or party as documented on the delivery notification, Direct Tap shall have no further obligations toward Breakage compensation of said product.
